1. Introduction

Temia turns your photos into AI photos and videos from ready-made templates. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

By using Temia, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Photos and clips: the photos (and, for some templates, short video clips) you choose to upload for a creation.
  • Template inputs: text you type into a template, for example a name or the text for a car's licence plate.
  • Profile: an optional display name and the penguin avatar you pick.
  • Messages: support emails and reports you send about a result.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Account identifier: a random ID the app creates on first launch and keeps in your device's Keychain. Temia needs no sign-up, email address or phone number.
  • Device and app information: device model, iOS version, app version, language, and Apple's identifier for vendor (used so that one-time bonuses are given once per device).
  • Approximate country: derived from your IP address on our own server with an offline database. Your IP address is not stored with your account.
  • Your creations: the results we make for you, the templates you used, their credit cost and when they were made.
  • Credits and purchases: your credit balance and history, subscription status, and purchase events (product, price, store country, Apple transaction IDs) reported by Apple through Adapty. We never receive your card or payment details.
  • Push notification token: only if you allow notifications.
  • App usage analytics: screens viewed and actions such as opening a template, creating, or seeing a paywall (Mixpanel). You can turn this off in Settings.
  • Advertising measurement: installs and in-app events such as a purchase are reported to Meta (Facebook SDK) and Apple Ads to measure our advertising. If you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, this may include your device's advertising identifier; if you do not, it does not.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To make your creations: process your photos, clips and inputs with AI models and deliver the results.
  • To run your account: keep your creations, favorites, credits and subscription status.
  • To notify you: when a creation is ready, and, if you allow notifications, about new templates and offers.
  • To keep the service safe: check requests automatically before they run, prevent abuse and fraud, and handle reports.
  • To help you: answer support requests and refund credits for failed creations.
  • To improve Temia: understand which features and templates work, and fix problems.
  • To measure our advertising: learn which ads bring people to Temia, as described in 2.2.
  • To meet legal duties: for example tax and accounting records of purchases.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your photos to train AI models and we do not use them in advertising.

4. AI Processing

To make a creation, your photo, clip and inputs are sent to fal.ai, which runs the AI models on our behalf (models made by providers such as Google, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba and OpenAI). They are used only to produce the result you asked for. Requests are checked automatically before they run; we do not routinely look at your photos, but we may review a result you report to us in order to handle the report.

5. Service Providers

We share data only with the providers that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs:

  • Hetzner Online (European Union): hosts our servers and database.
  • Cloudflare: stores uploads, results and backups (R2) and delivers files quickly worldwide.
  • fal.ai (United States): runs the AI models (see section 4).
  • Adapty: manages subscriptions and in-app purchases; receives your account ID and purchase data.
  • Apple: processes payments and delivers push notifications; Apple Ads measures ad performance.
  • Mixpanel: app usage analytics (can be turned off in Settings).
  • Meta Platforms: measures our ads through the Facebook SDK (see 2.2).

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights and users' safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or transfer of the app, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.

6. Storage and Retention

  • Uploaded photos, clips and creations: kept until you delete them in the app or delete your account.
  • Account, credit and purchase history: kept until you delete your account. Records we must keep for tax or accounting may be kept longer where the law requires.
  • Database backups: rolled over and deleted within 14 days.
  • Push tokens: until you turn notifications off, the token expires, or you delete your account.
  • Analytics and ad measurement: kept by Mixpanel, Meta and Apple under their own retention settings.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to handle your request.

Files are stored under long random addresses that are not listed anywhere. Anyone who has the exact link to one of your results can open it, so share such links only with people you trust.

7. Deleting Your Data

In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account, your creations and your uploaded photos from our servers right away; backups roll over within 14 days. You can also delete single creations at any time.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account on our servers. Subscriptions are billed by Apple: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/EEA and UK, KVKK in Türkiye, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict some processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Analytics: Settings → turn off analytics.
  • Tracking: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Notifications: iPhone Settings → Notifications → Temia.
  • Deletion: Settings → Delete Account.
  • Access, a copy of your data, or any other request: email us. Please include your account ID (shown in Settings) so we can find your data; we answer within 30 days.

Legal bases (GDPR): performing our contract with you (creations, credits, purchases), consent (tracking under App Tracking Transparency, notifications, and analytics where consent is required), and our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the app, and measuring ads without tracking). You may complain to your local data protection authority.

California: we do not sell personal information. Sharing install and purchase events with Meta for ad measurement may count as "sharing" under the CPRA; you can stop it by not allowing tracking and by turning off analytics. We do not discriminate against you for using your rights.

9. Children

Temia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. In countries where the age of digital consent is higher (up to 16 in parts of the EU), users below that age need a parent's or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Transfers

Our servers are in the European Union. Some providers process data in other countries, including the United States (for example fal.ai, Mixpanel and Meta). Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

11. Security

Data travels over HTTPS/TLS, access to our systems is restricted, and payments never pass through our servers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to fix issues quickly.

12. Device Permissions

  • Photos: to pick photos for a creation (the iOS photo picker gives Temia only the photos you choose) and to save results to your library.
  • Notifications: optional.
  • Tracking: optional (App Tracking Transparency).

You can change these at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Temia changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app about material changes.
